What is Fragrance 3.9?
Fragrance 3.9 is our only product: a 100ml Eau de Parfum, retailing at AUD 320. The name refers to the aging period — three months and twenty-seven days in new French oak barrels sourced from Cognac-region cooperages. It is a single SKU. We made one batch of fifty bottles.
What does it smell like?
Opening notes of bergamot and black pepper. Heart of iris and saffron. Base of sandalwood, vetiver, and French oak. Dry. Woody. Slightly smoky. The barrel aging adds a depth that no formula alone can replicate — the wood has done its own work.
What is barrel aging and why does it matter?
The same process used to age whisky and Cognac can be applied to fragrance. Raw materials are placed in new French oak barrels and left for a defined period. The tannins, char, and slow oxygenation interact with the fragrance. The result is different from what went in — in ways that matter. We cover this in detail in our article What Is Barrel-Aged Perfume?
Is it unisex?
Yes. Fragrance 3.9 was designed without a gender in mind. The profile — dry, woody, restrained — sits outside typical category conventions. Wear it if it resonates with you.
How long does it last?
8–12 hours of wear on skin, depending on skin type and application. EDP concentration holds well. The woody base notes are persistent. A single spray is usually enough.
